Clipper Windpower is engaged in the design, engineering and manufacturing of advanced wind turbines and developing wind energy projects, including engineering, construction, and plant operation. The Company also retains partial ownership in certain wind energy projects. It manufactures the 2.5 megawatts Liberty wind turbine and actively develops wind power generating projects in the Americas and Europe. During the year ended December 31, 2008, the Company sold the development rights to North American wind projects totaling 1,810 megawatts. In October 2008, Clipper completed a joint venture agreement with BP Wind Energy with their investment in a 50% stake in the 5,050 megawatts Titan Wind Project in South Dakota. In 2008, it produced 289 turbines, and installed and commissioned 248 turbines at various wind project sites in the United States.
