1. Recycled & Lightweight glass containers - Glass is made up of sand, limestone & soda ash - the company is able to add 80-90% recycled glass (called cullet) to the mix to produce new glass without affecting the quality of the new container; at this level of using recycled glass, 25% less energy is required to melt the materials, since less sand, limestone & soda ash are used. Glass can be recycled an infinite number of times without affecting quality. Received the 'Sustainable Pack Award' in 2007 UK Packaging Awards for their 70cl spirit bottle, which the company reduced in weight by 1/3 from 1998 to 20071.
