What is WikiPositive?

WikiPositive is a free, open-access collaborative platform designed to be a simple starting point for social and environmental research. Research is first focused on how a group of people, working as a company, are proactively respecting all their relations and are having an eye for the generations to come.

Why WikiPositive?

Prior to the creation of WikiPositive, social and environmental research has been mostly proprietary, expensive and limited to companies followed by Wall Street analysts. It has also been largely focused on the unhealthy environmental or social activities of corporations.

WikiPositive uses collaboration to focus on how companies are becoming a part of an environmentally sustainable and socially just future. It also brings awareness to how these healthy activities might be undermined by unhealthy ones. We are organizing ourselves to share the responsibility for this research because we recognize that by working together, we will all have better access to a more accurate, up-to-date and broad base of knowledge. This information is important to the direction of the world; that’s why we are committed to working together and making it free and accessible to all.

Who is WikiPositive for?

WikiPositive is for us all – an investor seeking to invest in a healthier future, an entrepreneur seeking to learn from positive initiatives throughout the world, a student who wants to learn from or share a different perspective, a job-seeker looking to work with a group of people with a vision to the future, a journalist looking to highlight a positive development, a social researcher who seeks to share their discoveries with the world at large, or a household seeking to learn more about where their goods and services are coming from.

How can you be an active participant in this commonspace?

You can use WikiPositive to search for positive initiatives improving local and global communities, with company information easily and freely accessible on the company’s WikiPositive profile. You can comment at the bottom of any company profile page. If you feel inclined to participate in editing or adding company content you can register to become a Trusted Contributor.

When was WikiPositive created?

Understanding that there was a lack of social and environmental research (that was not costly, limited or privately maintained), 3Sisters Sustainable Investments' research team created the WikiPositive model in order to deepen and broaden research on how companies are being responsible to society. This idea started to take form when Steven Gervais, 3Sisters' Head of Research, and three University of Pennsylvania students interning at 3Sisters, Mukul Sharma, Harsh Mundhra and Katarina Lackner, created a first edition of WikiPositive. Since then, WikiPositive has been through several phases of development and design that have led to what you see now. This is a project with a long-term vision of improving the condition of the world, and will go through many more phases; if you are interested in helping to develop this vision, please be in touch.
